Mzee was born and raised in Malawi and has been living in Cape Town since 2010.

Because of the financial difficulties faced, his family decided that he would come to Cape Town on his own to sell his goods and his wife is fortunate enough to come down once a month with new replenished stock for his to sell.  Mzee has mentioned that so many of the young kids are taught have to weave the baskets in Malawi and a lot of the stock is actually from them who have made the goods. 

Mzee is known for always showing off his lovely goods in a particular spot in Constantia.  He lives in Capricorn Park in Muizenberg Cape Town. 

He has 2 boys aged 25 and 20 who finished school here in South Africa.
