Ghanaian Small Bolga Basket

These small round Bolga baskets are perfect for an Easter basket, the local farmers market or they  can be used as decorative storage in your home. These bold baskets are hand woven in rural Ghana from the durable elephant grass, and are wrapped with soft hand dyed cow leather.  This is one of the hardest baskets to weave owing to achieving a flat bottom using the double weave method.  These woven bags are handmade by Ghanaian artisans from 100% recycled and organic materials. Please note that these baskets can be easily reshaped by immersing your basket in cool water, holding the basket in the water for 60 seconds.  Pull the basket out of the water, shaking off excess water.  Let the basket sit for a couple of minutes to allow the water to penetrate the straw.  Push the basket back into shape.  Allow to dry, undisturbed, out of the sun in a dry space.
