Beaded Namji DollAFRI009T
Our Namji Dolls are made by the Namji tribe in Cameroon. Namji Dolls have been used as good luck charms, in ritual practices, as amulets and have been treasured as family heirlooms.
In history, the Namji doll helped prepare the young Namji woman for her role as a mother in her future life. They were also kept by older women to promote fertility. Because of their authenticity and cultural heritage, Namji dolls are considered among the finest and most beautiful dolls in Africa. They are made with glass beads, cowrie shells, hand carved from pine hardwood and stand on a wood base.
No two are exactly alike which adds to the value of each Namji doll.
Namji Dolls are beautiful, cultural and make great gifts.
Each piece is hand carved and beaded. Please allow for slight variations as each piece is uniquely made.
