Miriam and her South African husband moved back to Cape Town in 2016, with their two little boys. By background she is a physiotherapist, but has always had a pull towards more creative pursuits, sewing and silver-smithing amongst other things. Shortly after her third son was born she began working for a local jeweller assisting with manufacture and production. Her jeweller friend also introduced her to 'Shwe-Shwe', the vibrant, geometric, printed fabric synonymous with clothing and decor in South Africa. She started 'Made by Mim' in 2019 and began by designing and making baby slippers, before expanding her range of baby apparel and other items, all hand-created from home!
